Frank Brown was appointed dean of Insead in July 2006, following a 26-year career at accountants PwC. Most latterly he was Global Leader of the $3.5bn Advisory Services operating unit. At PwC he started a leadership development programme called Genesis Park, to develop the next generation of PwC leaders, drive cultural change and promote a global perspective.
Mr Brown studied on an advanced management programme at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, but otherwise has no formal management training.
He joined the Insead US advisory council in 2000 and became a member of the main board in 2005. He re-organised the top management team at Insead within weeks of joining the school, and brought the two campuses in Fontainebleau and Singapore under a single management structure.
In a recent interview with the FT he said: “What do I want this place [Insead] to be known for? The one that screams to me is leadership.”
