Hu Jintao, China’s president, opened his US trip with a guided tour of the Microsoft campus in Seattle, a visit the company hopes will mark the beginnings of a sea change in Beijing on intellectual property rights. The highlight of Mr Hu’s four-day trip is a summit on Thursday with US President George W. Bush.
