Matthew Slaughter, management professor and associate dean for faculty at Dartmouth College’s Tuck School of Business, will step up to become dean of the school on July 1. He will replace Paul Danos, who has been dean for 20 years and is one the longest-serving deans at a US business school.
With a PhD from MIT, Prof Slaughter taught economics at Dartmouth College before joining the business school in 2002. As well as being associate dean for faculty, he is faculty head of Tuck’s Centre for Global Business and Government, and an expert on international business.
For two years between 2005 and 2007, he was a member of the Council of Economic Advisers in the Executive Office of the US President, advising on international trade, currency and energy markets and the competitiveness of the US economy.
He is also a Financial Times contributor.
