Cornell University is looking for a new business school dean following the decision by Robert Swieringa to step down at the end of his second five-year term, in June 2007. Prof Swieringa will retain his job as an accounting professor at the Johnson school.

The Johnson school is the latest top business school to start a dean hunt. In the US the Marshall School in the US is also looking for a new dean, while in the UK both London Business school and Machester Business School have employed headhunters for the search. On Monday this week Harvard Business School announced that it had appointed Jay Light, the interim dean, to the top job.
