Eve Best made a lovely Beatrice here in Much Ado About Nothing and now she takes on another great Shakespeare character who is a fine match for her man. Best plays Cleopatra, the beautiful and astute Queen of Egypt with whom Clive Wood’s Antony falls wildly in love, causing ructions back in Rome and, ultimately, bringing destruction on them both.

Jonathan Munby directs this tragedy about love and power.
