Terakaft

Aratan N Azawad

(World Village)

In the 1960s, the Beatles, Stones and Who joined in a constant competitive three-way dialogue.

Similarly, Touaregs jostle to claim the crown of Tinariwen: a few weeks ago Tamikrest took a shot, and now Terakaft stake their claim with a set of songs about drought and fratricidal strife. Especially on ‘Talikoba’, their sound is clean and bright, letting the springy rhythms bounce out clearly.
