University of Hong Kong MBA students will be able to study for a term at Columbia Business School in New York under the terms of a partnership announced by the schools.
Once their core course is complete, up to 40 students from the Faculty of Business Economics at the Hong Kong university can choose four elective courses alongside Columbia MBA students. The programme begins in the 2007-08 academic year.
With the growth of the Chinese economy, future business leaders from the region must be exposed to the latest ideas in business research and practice, says Glenn Hubbard, dean of Columbia.
“The students will be able to bring back innovative ideas that will help shape the way business is practised in Asia,” he says.
HKU already has an MBA partnership with London Business School. Its full-time MBA students are able to study at LBS for three months if they wish and, subsequently, gain lifelong LBS alumni status.
