Shirt by TM Lewin

I bought this shirt in Dublin. When I was younger, I enjoyed dressing quite smartly, wearing suits and dress shirts. I rarely wear T-shirts, something I probably owe to my father; he was a fashion designer and had great style. Even when I’m exhausted at work, if I’m wearing a shirt I always feel fresher. I probably have 200; my wife gets upset every time I buy a new one.

Glasses by Eyebobs

I have to wear glasses when I’m working – it’s important when I’m looking at a monitor or a camera for long periods. Eyebobs have a lovely collection, and the glasses I’m wearing here are made of wood and look quite vintage. I have three identical pairs [as I get] in a panic that I’ll lose them.

Watch by Mondaine

This is a great Swiss manufacturer. They’ve been making watches for decades, and this one is a really classic style. I love that I can wear this watch anywhere – whether I’m in a meeting with a big studio executive in Hollywood or working on a shoot.

Cardigan

I bought this cashmere cardigan in New York a few years ago. It has no label so I’m not sure what the brand is, but it’s a real quality piece. It adds character and looks quite casual, but it’s elegant at the same time. Since I’m tall, I like it when I find pieces that are too big for me. If I find something I love, I buy three or four of each.

Scarf by Zara

I was given this silk-mix scarf as a present by my sister. I like to wear one now and again, if I’m in a work meeting or going out socially. I’ve had this one for a while, but I don’t wear it too often as it’s quite special to me.

Jeans by Levi’s

People accept that I can wear pretty much anything I want as a director. If I wear jeans, which I do quite often, it’s always Levi’s 508s. This pair is so comfortable to wear, and I prefer a classic, straighter-cut jean. I think I can combine jeans with everything, especially these ones, with their dark wash and more tailored style.

Shoes by Camper

These shoes are completely weightless, and they’re so soft to wear when you’re walking around in the city. I would never wear sneakers; I want to wear something that’s nice to look at. I probably wouldn’t wear them filming outside, though, because I wouldn’t want to ruin them.
