Bernard Arnault opens FT Business of Luxury Summit

The Financial Times will host its fifth annual FT Business of Luxury Summit on June 14-16 at the Salle des Etoiles in the Sporting Monte-Carlo, Monaco. Chaired by Lionel Barber, editor of the Financial Times, this year’s Summit will bring together the business leaders of the world’s luxury industry and senior financiers to debate key issues facing the global luxury sector. Previous Summits have been held in Las Vegas, Shanghai, Venice and Tokyo.

The theme of this year’s Summit is ‘Beyond Green: Economics, Ethics and Enticement’. Lively debate is expected on the effect the current economic crisis has had on the luxury sector, how it has changed the way companies do business, its implications and the steps that need to be made towards a more ethical and environmentally friendly future.

Angela Ahrendts, CEO, Burberry; Simon de Pury, Chairman, Phillips de Pury & Company; Jim O’Neill, Global Chief Economist, Goldman Sachs; Tyler Brûlé, Editor in Chief, Monocle; Alex Bolen, CEO, Oscar de la Renta Ltd; Joshua Schulman, CEO, Jimmy Choo; and Malcolm McLaren, artist.
