Morand to be dean at ESCP-EAP

Economist Pascal Morand has been named as the new dean of ESCP-EAP, the European school of management. He succeeds Jean-Louis Scaringella, who was dean of the school for seven years, since it was created by the merger of ESCP and EAP.

Prof Morand is a recognised brand expert and intends to promote the school as one of the few truly European institutions. “ESCP-EAP, with its five campuses in Europe, has a genuine calling to contribute to the development of personal skills and business expertise for the European marketplace. But over and above this, it has a duty as a European institution to contribute to the debate on the social, economic and even political future of the continent. It is one of the rare business schools to be in a position to do so. “

Dr. Morand is a graduate of HEC Paris and has held academic posts at HEC, ESC Rouen and ESCP-Eap.

Prof Scaringella has been appointed Associate Director General of the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where he will be responsible for economic studies and innovation. The Paris Chamber of Commerce is the parent of ESCP-EAP and represents more 300,000 companies generating some 25 per cent of France’s wealth.

Prof Morand will take part in a Financial Times Q&A session on European Masters In Management programmes between 13.00 and 14.00 GMT on Tuesday September 12. Post your questions for Prof Morand at
