The Univeristy of Miami has appointed its second marketing professor in a row to head up the business school. Eugene Anderson, senior associate dean for academic affairs at the University of Michigan’s Ross school, will become dean on August 1.
Prof Anderson replaces Barbara Kahn, who returned to the Wharton school at the University of Pennsylvania after three and half years in January 2011. Frances Aldrich Sevilla-Sacasa is currently interim dean.
Prof Anderson has worked at Michigan for more than 20 years in a variety of roles and oversaw the design and launch of Michigan's executive MBA programme in 2000. He also led the review of the full-time MBA core curriculum and has collaborated with other schools at Michigan to launch joint degree programmes.
