American photographer Tina Barney (born 1945) is best-known for her 1980s and 1990s portraits chronicling her family and friends in and around New York. Using a large-format camera, Barney made portraits of sitters in her affluent milieu, with many of the works designed to offer a glimpse of everyday life.
“What the photographs are about is family, and the interaction of people who come from the same family, usually within their own homes,” Barney has said.
“The Boys” (1990), is on display as part of the exhibition Scrutiny After the Glimpse.
