Daniel Broby is a visiting professor in the department of accounting and finance at Strathclyde Business School.

He holds an MSc in investment analysis from the University of Stirling and an MPhil in economics from Brunel university.

In addition to mentoring graduate students, Mr Broby focuses on his research interests, which include equity indices and fund management. He has had a number of referred articles published on these subjects.

He is also an accomplished fund management professional, having held several senior positions at leading European fund managers, including those of chief executive, chief investment officer and chief portfolio manager. Mr Broby is deputy chief executive and chief investment officer at Silk Invest, an FSA regulated frontier market fund management firm.

Daniel Broby was elected an individual member of the London Stock Exchange in 1990; is a chartered fellow of Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment; a Fellow of CFA UK; and a visiting fellow at Durham University. He was presented with the CFA Institute’s Society Leader Award in 2006.

He is the author of several books including A Guide to Equity Index Construction and A Guide to Fund Management (both published by Risk books).
