A rather ironic title for this clutch of four interlinked plays, given that the playwright is no longer with us. At the time of Simon Gray’s death in 2008, three of the plays in this quartet had not been staged. Japes is the play that has been seen before: it covers 30 years in the lives of two brothers, their sibling rivalry and the fact that they are in love with the same woman.

In the other three dramas, Gray revisits the same characters, but the outcomes are different. Fascinating material exploring the way small decisions can affect the path we end up taking through life. Tamara Harvey directs Gethin Anthony, Jamie Ballard, Laura Rees and Imogen Doel. You can see all four plays in a marathon on Saturdays.
