Iron Man 3 – DVD review

Robert Downey Jr is on cocky form as he suits up again to save the world from overly earnest superheroes

Shane Black, 2013

Disney

Iron Man returns to save the world – not least from the evils of overly earnest and saturnine superheroes. Robert Downey Jr is on cocky, wisecracking form as he suits up for a third time, this time to take on Guy Pearce’s nefarious bionic nerd and Ben Kingsley’s hilariously theatrical Bin Laden 2.0.

All this with only an inexhaustible arsenal of gleefully non-ecofriendly weaponry at his disposal. Longtime Hollywood scribe Shane Black brings an explosive new energy to the franchise. In short, it’s a blast.
