Sweet treats: Easter chocolate
Rattling Egg Sets by Chococo
Many children are (quite sensibly) unfussy about quality when it comes to Easter chocolate, as long as there’s quantity. Nevertheless, there is plenty of good stuff for younger chocoholics to gorge on at this time of year.
Dorset-based chocolatier Chococo nicely presents these Rattling Egg Sets (£11.95, www.chococo.co.uk) in pink and blue egg boxes; inside the choc shells are speckled eggs and jelly beans. All the chocolate is freshly made on site.
For Nigella aspirants try the “Superior Seagull” Salted Caramel Eggs by Rococo (£9.50, rococochocolates.com), a salted caramel ganache covered in chocolate. Rococo also runs a Half Term Chocolate Bar workshop (April 10, £35), in which children make their own bar, decorate it and wrap it in coloured foils.

For similar hand-on classes, try Melt Chocolate in west London, which hosts weekly “Mini-Melt” choc workshops for children (www.meltchocolates.com); chocolate lollipops are made and taken home. William Curley also runs junior tuition (£45, www.williamcurley.com).
For a stylish egg hunt, this Beau Bunny’s bag of 30 eggs (£25, www.hotelchocolat.com) should do the trick. Fortnum & Mason’s Easter Egg Hunt Basket includes sweetly designed signage for a trail, plus the chocolate to lay down, and comes in a handy wicker trug (£60, www.fortnumandmason.com).
