Scenes from the Democratic convention

Every four years, US political conventions attract thousands of delegates representing each of the 50 states. And to draw attention during the panning crowd shots, they often dress in flashy, themed clothing. Red, white and blue outfits seem almost mandatory, some kind of hat is a must, and accessories include badges, signs and foam fingers. This slideshow captures the latest sights captured on the camera-phones of FT correspondents Anna Fifield and Stephanie Kirchgaessner as they make their way around Charlotte, North Carolina.
