Today, the Financial Times announces the launch of FT Access Manager, a new service that enables customers with a FT Corporate Licence to make full use of the global intelligence, research and analysis available on FT.com.
FT Access Manager uses IP authentication to help knowledge managers and information professionals track and maximise usage of FT.com amongst a corporate user base. Benefits include close control of users of FT.com, tracking of the number of users signed up to the service and frequency of usage. This insight allows customers to refine the solution to meet changes in usage and ultimately maximise its use within their organisations.
Further benefits of the service include a personalised and simplified sign-up process that suits the specific requirements of an organisation and usage trends data that facilitates the cross-charging of fees to different departments within a business.
”This service is a result of the FT’s direct relationship with its corporate customers,” says Caspar de Bono, managing director of B2B for the FT. “Customers are asking for tools that optimise their use of FT.com and Access Manager provides a way for them to achieve this goal.”
FT Access Manager has undergone successful user testing by multinational corporations in the pharmaceuticals and oil and gas sectors.
Unlimited access to FT.com is only available to individual subscribers or to organisations with an FT Corporate Licence. Today’s announcement follows the implementation of the Financial Times’ corporate licence strategy in 2008. The new licence model has enabled the Financial Times to secure direct agreements with 550 corporate customers. These customers can access Financial Times content for multiple users across a variety of platforms - both FT.com and any of 22 third party news aggregation services.
