Real estate developer Leonard Wood is to give $4m to the Kenan-Flagler school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to help it beef up its real estate programme. Kenan-Flagler is one of the few top US schools to offer a concentration in real estate development on its MBA programme.
The $4m will also be used to expand the Centre for Real Estate Development which is part of the school’s Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise and was launched in 2001. The centre focuses on helping managers build and manage property in ways that have a positive impact and are sustainable.
Leonard Wood is a founding member of Wood Partners, an Atlanta company that develops, constructs and acquires multi-family rental communities.
