Every four years, US political conventions attract thousands of delegates representing each of the 50 states. And to attract attention to their state during the panning crowd shots, they often dress in flashy themed clothing. Red, white and blue clothing seems almost mandatory and some kind of hat is a must. Accessories include pins, signs and foam fingers. This slideshow features some of the unique outfits and characters the FT’s correspondents have encountered on the convention floor.
