E3, the biggest video game trade show, is back with a bang in 2009, although it may not be enough to lift an industry in a slump. Game console makers have been riding out the recession better than most, helped by the success of Nintendo’s Wii. The Electronic Entertainment Expo, held in Los Angeles on June 2-4, has suffered two low-key years after publishers deemed it had become too overblown and expensive.
