The line-up Personalised gifts

A personalised present always looks virtuous but many products require you to order in good time before Christmas. As of last week, Roger Hargreaves’ irresistible band of Mr Men and Little Misses can be personalised almost instantly at a pop-up store in Selfridges, London (selfridges.com). There are 15 Mr Men and 10 Little Miss characters to chose from to create your own Mr Harry or Little Miss Amelia (to use the most popular UK baby names of 2012, for example). Once you have ordered size and name, it takes about 20 minutes to be printed and framed, as preferred. The pop-up will be run by Art You Grew Up With. From £14.99 for a “classic” unframed print to £194.99 for a “huge” framed print.

Another fully customisable present is the “Lost My Name” story book. The narrative follows a little boy or girl as they hunt down their missing name letter by letter, encountering a troll and an ostrich along the way, among other creatures (£18.99, lost.my.name).

The Letteroom does a popular personalised letter to Santa in book form (£18.99) and this Kilner sweet jar (£19.95, theletterroom.com) can bear the sweet-owner’s name and instructions (“hands off”, perhaps). And, finally, this personalised Harrow & Green Christmas Sack looks the business for a thoroughly spoilt child’s stocking (£22, notonthehighstreet.com).
