Berlin business school appoints next dean

Accounting professor Stefan Reichelstein has been appointed dean of ESMT, the German business school set up by many of Germany’s largest corporations. He will leave Stanford to move to Berlin in June 2012.
A former professor at the University of California at Berkeley and the University of Vienna in Austria, Prof Reichelstein received his PhD from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and his undergraduate degree from the University of Bonn. He has been an affiliate professor of ESMT - which stands for European School of Management and Technology - since 2010.Prof Reichelstein is also currently an editor of the Review of Accounting Studies and Foundations and Trends in Accounting.
ESMT was set up in 2002 by a group of Germany’s top companies, initially focusing on executive education. It now runs an MBA and an EMBA - an MBA for working managers - as well.
“In its short history, ESMT has asserted its position in the business school landscape,” says Prof Reichelstein. “I will focus on further advancing ESMT’s reputation in the areas of teaching and research, while working closely with its founding companies.”
