Two Wings: A Wake

Album echoes seam of 1970s nostalgia in the band’s debut, though this time it’s more indebted to AOR

Hanna Tuulikki and Ben Reynolds are one of the best-kept secrets in folk music, their first album Love’s Spring echoing the great duos of the 1970s.

A Wake has a similar seam of nostalgia, though this time more indebted to AOR; Reynolds’s guitar on “Peace-Fear” and “Stranger” swoops and Tuulikki yelps like Buckingham and Nicks.

“We Can Show You More” starts with an estampie that David Munrow would have relished.
