The Twilight series trundles to its drawn-out end with a final bout of bloodlusty romance. An enraptured Edward (Robert Pattinson) gazes on as wife Bella (Kristen Stewart) embraces new-found immortality, while Michael Sheen and his nocturnal constabulary plot to snatch the couple’s half-vampire, half-mortal wunderkind. This tame instalment’s sole action scene is head-snapping in a purely lethal sense, leaving the remainder of the film for judging which cast member best achieves the cadaver-with-smouldering- eyeliner look. An indulgent saga-spanning montage sneaks in before the close: lovers nuzzle; knowing glances are exchanged. Harmless viewing from an infectious franchise.
