From the trifecta behind a famed boutique hospitality firm, to the two Ivy League graduates making news more accessible, to the football team that plays for our city, we take a look at some of New York’s most stylish business teams across the industries
New York Giants teammates Stevie Brown and Justin Tryon, with triathlete Nolon Orozco all wearing suits by Eredi Pisano
Stevie Brown, New York Giants, #27. Stevie is wearing all Eredi Pisano, but on a more casual night out you can find him wearing jeans and a button-up. When relaxing he his favorite sneakers are Jordans, though he likes to shop at lots of different places and is always open to trying new things
Justin Tryon, New York Giants, #30. Justin is wearing all Eredi Pisano, and says in general he likes to wear a sports coat and slacks for a slick, tailored look. He also often mixes and matches colors, patterns and fabrics. I asked him what he has his eye on for the holiday season and he responded that he is looking to get a nice tuxedo, because you can never have too many tuxes for this time of year.
Nolon Orozco, Triathlete from LA. Nolon is also wearing all Eredi Pisano, however his regular look consists of slacks and loafers or jeans, boots and a polo shirt. What does Nolon have his eye on for the holiday season? A pair of Pisano blue slacks with a brown zipper that he just spotted while inside at the event.
TheSkimm - an email newsletter that breaks down the headlines for the busy professional on the go. Co-founders Carly Zakin and Danielle Weisberg started theSkimm when they saw a big void in the market and wanted to make the news more accessible, the tone of the newsletter written with their friends in mind. The two Ivy League graduates (UPenn and Columbia) worked at NBC news on and off since they were interns there starting at age nineteen. Now, a day in their lives goes something like this: 6am - Wake up to make sure theSkimm newsletter goes out. Go back to sleep. 8am - Eat breakfast together while going over emails and comments. 10am - Coffee meeting with someone whom they’re thinking of doing a partnership with. 12pm - Lunch together at some place with WiFi while they work out what the main stories are for the day. In the afternoon they have another networking meeting, then they start writing the next day’s newsletter. Evening brings another meeting, networking event or business development session. Then t
Danielle Weisberg, co-founder, theSkimm. Danielle is wearing a Calvin Klein dress from Rent the Runway, Zara shoes, jewellery from her family and red bracelet that she got last summer in Israel at the Western Wall. The bracelet has not yet fallen off and as it is bad luck to cut it off and Danielle is too superstitious to do so, it has become part of her daily look. Danielle likes shopping at Bloomingdales, but her favorite place is Zara for the clothing’s flattering fit, which is especially rare in that price range. As a style rule, she needs outfits that can go from day to night since there is no time to change

Carly Zakin, co-founder, theSkimm. Carly is wearing a Narciso Rodriguez dress from Rent the Runway, Manolo Blahnik shoes (borrowed from her mother), Marc Jacobs bag and jewellery passed down through her family. Carly likes to wear pieces from Zara, Theory and Ralph Lauren as well as a lot of her mother’s old clothing. Carly and Danielle are both fans of Rent the Runway. Having just started a new company, they have taken both an emotional and financial leap of faith and need to watch their budgets while looking put together at the same time, so Rent the Runway could not be a better fit

Dual Groupe - the luxury hospitality firm and team behind the Day & Night brunches and numerous restaurants including the newly opened Toy, a playful take on the intersection of dining and entertaining, which is what the Groupe is known for. The team is made up of twin brothers Daniel and Derek Koch, CMO and COO respectively, and Michael Wainstein, CEO. Five years ago, the brothers approached Michael, one of their investors at the time, about becoming partners in a hospitality business. Michael thought they were the next generation hospitality and that it made sense to partner. This photo shows the partners on the terrace of Toy restaurant located at The Gansevoort Meatpacking, a fusion of Asian cuisine with tastemaker style, which they recently opened in partnership with China Grill Management. In the following photos, we take a look at their sartorial style
Derek Koch, COO, Dual Groupe. Derek is wearing a Clifton Charles custom shirt, Dolce & Gabbana suede shoes and pinstripe slim fit suit, Ralph Lauren Purple Label pocket square and socks, Jacob & Co. watch, LAI (Luxury Accessories International) crocodile belt, Vintage Moet & Chandon cufflinks, and a Les Iles du Monde souvenir love bracelet that he got in St. Barths. Derek, as the COO, wears suits about fifty percent of the time, saying when his partner Michael tells him he has a meeting for tomorrow, he dresses up. In general, he likes to incorporate one solid piece in his look (like a white button down) and usually pairs it with a striped suit and any kind of patterned pocket square. His favorite designers include John Varvatos, American Apparel, Zara, Y-3 and Etro. Derek’s main criteria is that his look can go day to night (just like the namesake of Derek and Daniel’s famed Day & Night brunches)

Daniel Koch, CMO, Dual Groupe. Daniel is wearing Ferragamo cufflinks, Zara belt, Uniqlo socks, TeNo ring (Soho, NY), Artsee glasses, sterling silver ring from St. Thomas (a gift from his brother’s girlfriend), and Frederique Constant watch that he received as a prize for winning Gotham Magazine’s Bachelor of the Year (over New York Yankee, Alex Rodriguez). Daniel, like his twin brother Derek, is also wearing a slim fit classic pinstripe Dolce & Gabbana suit and custom made Clifton Charles shirt, but the similarities stop there. Daniel, who runs the creative side of the company, describes his style as “Rockstar”, siting his favorite brands as Dsquared and Diesel and favorite stores as Odin and What Goes Around Comes Around. He wears a suit only once in a while, preferring leather, cowboy boots and vintage t-shirts. This seems appropriate if you look at playful yet edgy interior of their new creation, Toy restaurant (think pops of neon on both the walls as well as waiter uniforms)

Michael Wainstein, CEO, Dual Groupe. Michael is wearing a custom made suit from Embassy Tailors, an individualized custom made shirt, A. Testoni shoes, Prada tie, Girard Perregaux watch, and monogrammed cufflinks that were given to him as a gift. Michael describes his style as tailored conservative and traditional, stating that you never know when you might wind up in a meeting with a hospitality partner and always need to be prepared
