Unerring yet never cruel, the Lorne Michaels series brims with a who’s-who of comedic cameos

“The dream of the 90s is alive in Portland”, where inquiring whether the chicken on a restaurant menu has dieted on sheep’s milk, soy and hazelnuts is not uncommon, chin beards and fixed-gear bikes are “over”, and adult Hide and Seek leagues thrive.

In sometimes deadpan, often absurd sketches, Saturday Night Live veteran Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein lampoon the obscure, sometimes hypocritical extremes of hipsterdom.

Unerring yet never cruel, the series brims with a who’s-who of comedic cameos – from Kyle MacLachlan to Kristen Wiig – the advantageous byproduct of any show produced by Lorne Michaels.
