Power dressing: Thomas Flohr

Suit by Sartoria Rossi

Sartoria Rossi is a Milan tailor. He would come to my place and I would choose the different fabrics with him – he has a great choice. I like light material, even if I do travel to colder regions, because I feel quite uncomfortable in thick suits and would rather wear a nice big coat. Even though I do own a few suits, most of the time I get the chance to be more casual and wear jeans with either business shoes or Converse. My trademark would probably be white Converse with Adriano Goldschmied jeans and either a Hermès shirt or a James Perse T-shirt. This is the way I dress to the office, always absolutely correct, but casual.

Shirt by Hermès

I love Hermès shirts and I keep them in different locations and on different planes. By the nature of my business I travel constantly, probably some 250 days a year minimum. One day I could be somewhere deep in Russia with -25 degrees and then maybe the next day I am off to Lagos with +40 degrees so I have to adapt to the different time zones and climates. One of my secrets is that I try to keep it simple and this is probably why 90 per cent of my shirts are white. Sometimes I have a light blue shirt but those would be the only two colours. We should focus on the important things of the day, rather than the colour of the shirt, right?

IN Style

. . .

Tie by Hermès

I don’t own a big collection of ties and I don’t wear them often, but the ones I do own, are all from Hermès. They have the more formal ones that are slightly wider and then they have the slightly thinner ones that are more modern and I really like them.

. . .

Shoes by John Lobb

John Lobb shoes fit like a glove. Sometimes I feel some of the more traditional English shoes kind of squeeze you in, but these are extremely comfortable. They are a light material and it feels like I am not even wearing shoes. I am a very brand-loyal person, just as I ask my clients to be.

. . .

Bracelets by Maxfield

I do like to wear some bracelets underneath my shirts, which I collect from different places around the world, especially if I find bracelets that would fit with more casual wear. I also buy many of my bracelets in Maxfield in Los Angeles.

. . .

Watch by Rolex

I don’t wear that many watches any more – my daughter loves to pinch them from me, so now she is the one wearing them – but one watch I do wear is an original 1967 Paul Newman Daytona. It’s a Rolex and a collectable, so if I wear a watch, I wear that one.
