ESCP generates energy management programme

Energy management, one of the most fashionable topics on the business school curriculum, is to be the subject of an executive masters programme to be taught in London and Madrid by ESCP Europe. The programme has previously been taught on ESCP’s Paris campus and in Norway.

The programme, which will focus on the corporate management of energy issues, is designed for those who need an overview of the energy management business. “Today there is a need for people to understand the global picture,” says Patrick Gougeon, director of ESCP’s London campus. “You need to have a good awareness of the questions. We know companies are not well-placed to deal with these issues.”

The one-year Executive Masters in Energy Management comprises four two-week modules, two taught in London and two in Paris. Additionally there is a one-week module taught in India to investigate some of the issues faced by developing economies.

Although the focus will be on the management of energy issues, Prof Gougeon says that the 35 participants will come away with an understanding of all the technical issues involved in energy management , such as carbon capture and storage (CCS) and smart grids.
