Sir, Regarding Martin Arnold’s article, “Lloyds confirms plans to relocate to London if Scots vote Yes” (September 11): in the unlikely event that Standard Life, or some other financial institutions, shift some of their operations from Edinburgh to London when Scotland votes for independence, those operations would be moved back to independent Scotland (which will remain an EU member state) when the rest of the UK votes to leave the EU, including the single market, in 2017.
