Hybrid pensions model splits experts

The dispute over a new pensions savings scheme re-ignited on Tuesday, as the first details emerged of the government’s plans to act on the recommendations of Lord Turner’s Pensions Commission.

Proposals leaked to the Financial Times show that the Department for Work and Pensions is trying to develop a hybrid between Lord Turner’s plan for the new pension scheme to be nationally organised and the insurance industry’s argument that it should be allowed to run it.
