Having filled in as acting head of BAE Systems' land and armaments division after Linda Hudson was appointed boss of US operations, Bob Murphy has been confirmed in the role. Mr Murphy, a numbers man who joined BAE in 1999, has his work cut out as the division has faced the loss of several US contracts and an expected downturn in spending in trucks and armoured vehicles will mean a further fall in revenue.
