Prices for D-Ram have rallied in the past month to the relief of struggling memory chip makers, but analysts warn the momentum may not be sustained.
Spot prices for the chip, which is mainly used in personal computers, have risen by nearly 50 per cent to $1.16 in the past month, according to inSpectrum, a Taipei-based research company. In spite of the price increase, selling D-Ram will still be lossmaking for most of the industry, which had nearly $10bn in losses last year.
