Non-food challenge from Asda

Asda, the supermarket chain owned by Wal-Mart, has launched a non-food arm, Asda Direct, in a bid to grab market share from rivals Tesco and Argos.

The website, which offers more than 9,000 products including electricals and housewares, will be accompanied by a print run of 3m catalogues that will arrive in stores this week.
