Wilbur Ross, the billionaire US turnround financier, on Wednesday named James Lockhart, until recently regulator of troubled mortgage companies Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, as vice-chairman of WL Ross, the distressed investment arm of Invesco.
In his new role, Mr Lockhart will help grow WL Ross’ financial services investments, which include funds that own American Home Mortgage Servicing as well as stakes in Assured Guaranty, the insurer, and BankUnited, whose parent failed earlier this year.
