Newsquest ad revenues plunge

Advertising revenues at Newsquest, the UK local newspaper arm of the US publisher Gannett, fell by 38.7 per cent in the first quarter of the year, the company said on Thursday.

The decline reported by the UK’s second-largest newspaper company by circulation included a drop in classified ad revenues of 45.1 per cent.
