Poor interest in Tribune bodes ill for papers

Wall Street is to receive a judgment on Wednesday on the value of newspapers as the deadline for bids for the Tribune group approaches.

So far, on the eve of the extended deadline set last year, no bidder has stepped forward to signal they are keen buyers of Tribune, the second-biggest US newspaper group, which owns titles including the Los Angeles Times and Chicago Tribune.
