Peru to buy back $2bn from debtors

Peru is to buy back as much as $2bn of its bilateral debt to Paris Club creditor governments after recent prepayment deals with Russia and Poland.

The group said on Thursday that the payment would be done on August 15. The majority of Peru’s 14 Paris Club creditors – including France, Italy, Germany, Spain and the US – were expected to participate in the deal, the group said.
