Rosalita learns to cut it at sharp end of music business

Jay Goodrich, bassist with British pop band Rosalita, harbours no illusions about the glamour and rewards of the music industry.

"Some of the gigs we did for nothing," he recalls of the Ipswich-based group's early touring dates. "The promoters would say 'You're from out of town, you're not going to bring anyone, nobody knows who you are so I'm not paying you.' You put up with that for a while."
