A Conservative government will not be able to deliver a business “wish list” of tax cuts and spending on infrastructure because the state has run out of money, David Cameron warned business on Monday.
The Conservative leader told the annual conference of the Confederation of British Industry, the employers’ organisation, that a government he led would be “unashamedly pro-enterprise and pro-wealth creation,” marking a rhetorical shift from his earlier pledges to “stand up” to big business where necessary.
