YouTube clip turns into video nasty

Political hubris can take many forms. Gordon Brown – his body swaying, a random smile contorting his features – has become a cult hit on YouTube after he used the medium to launch his botched plan to reform MPs’ expenses.

Last week’s broadcast has acquired the status of a video nasty among Labour MPs. “It was very damaging,” said Charles Clarke, a former minister. Another former minister asked: “Why on earth did they let it go out?”
