Life sciences company BTG climbed 7.2 per cent to 89¼p ahead of a presentation on its most important new product - foam injection treatment for varicose veins.

Next week BTG will present an interim report on a Phase II safety study of Varisolve at the Society of Interventional Radiology in Washington DC. BTG hopes to complete the trial by the end of June.
