Saudi Arabia signed a long-awaited trade deal with the US on Friday, as its bid to join the World Trade Organisation overcame one of its last significant hurdles.

The bilateral agreement between Opec's largest oil producer and the world's largest economy follows five months of negotiations, including a personal visit to Washington by Abdullah al-Saud, the Saudi king. Will McSheehy, Dubai
