3 looks to double its customer base

3, the UK mobile operator owned by Hong Kong's Hutchison Whampoa, is seeking to double its customers to 6.8m or more by 2012.

Kevin Russell, chief executive of 3 UK, told the Financial Times he wanted to double the size of the business over the next three to four years.
