Home-grown footballer plan backed

EU regulators on Wednesday backed rules encouraging the use of “home-grown” players drafted by Uefa, the European game’s governing body.

The move is aimed at encouraging dominant clubs to nurture or buy domestic talent rather than rely heavily on imported players.
