Vivendi seeks spin-off at France Telecom

France Telecom should be forced to spin off its fixed-line phone network because of its unhealthy dominance of the French market, according to Jean-Bernard Lévy, chief executive of Vivendi.

Mr Lévy called for the far-reaching reform in an interview with the Financial Times, saying France Telecom had captured 85 per cent of the available profit in the fixed-line telecoms market.
