Interest rate move seen as unlikely

Everyone is agreed: it is inconceivable that the Bank of England will shift interest rates on Thursday.

With inflation unexpectedly low in July, market turmoil increasing risks of lower growth and the effect of five rate rises yet to be felt fully, the Bank's Monetary Policy Committee has every incentive to wait before taking action.
