FCC to vote on media ownership

The Federal Communications Commission is expected to pass a controversial measure on Tuesday to loosen media ownership limits, despite intense opposition against the proposal on Capitol Hill.

Kevin Martin, the Republican chairman of the US media regulator, showed no signs of backing down from the scheduled vote late on Monday even after he received a letter from more than two dozen senators threatening to “revoke and nullify” the proposed rule if he did not delay the vote.
