Bank’s 335-year history helps put things in perspective

Bankhaus Metzler, founded in 1674, has been in business long enough to know a thing or two about crises.

Friedrich von Metzler, 66, the bank’s current chairman, observes of the downturn: “We were only moderately affected. Writedowns have not been a factor for our bank.”
