Aggressive casinos raise public concern

US casino operators badly misjudged the British appetite for gambling during the supercasinos controversy and helped fuel public suspicion about them, the world’s biggest casino company said.

Harrah’s, which was behind Blackpool’s attempt to become the location for the now-aborted idea, was among a clutch of Las Vegas operators lobbying in the expectation that the government would sanction a wave of supercasinos.
